Tall crops go along the north side, so they don't shade the rest. It also comes in 4 × 4 ft and 4 × 12 ft versions.

Tips

  • A row cover or cold frame adds weeks, even months, to the harvest.
  • Kale, spinach, and turnips turn sweeter after a frost.
  • Mâche (corn salad) survives snow: sow it in early fall for winter salads.
  • Pick on mild days, when the leaves aren't frozen.
